GeoSolutions USA Sponsoring FedGeoDay 2026 – “Building Ecosystems for Supporting Federal Data Stewardship”

Dear Reader,

GeoSolutions is honored to support FedGeoDay 2026 which will be held in Suitland, MD at the U.S. Census Bureau 22-23 APR, 2026.

The theme of this year’s FedGeoDay is, “Building Ecosystems for Supporting Federal Data Stewardship” with a 2-day program focused on preserving, maintaining, and maximizing the value of open data programs once administered by the federal government.  GeoSolutions is well positioned to support this effort through open-source geo products such as GeoNode for cloud native hosting of large public data repositories, serving as a fully enabled web GIS SDI and content management data portal system.

Denice Ross, former Deputy U.S. Chief Technology Officer and U.S. Chief Data Scientist, will set the tone for the conference with her keynote “Delivering on the Full Potential of Federal Open Geospatial Data”, an effort which GeoSolutions is uniquely positioned to support.

Day 2 will feature insightful panel sessions on how federal agencies such as U.S. Census are integrating statistical data with geospatial data, further enriching and maximizing value of these important data programs.  GeoSolutions’ own Andrea Aime will be hosting a breakout session “workshop” on the upcoming release of GeoServer 3, including a guided tour of the new user interface and new capabilities introduced in GeoServer 3.  Use cases in earth observation and maritime security will also be provided.

We look forward to participating, networking, and learning more at FedGeoDay, especially around how government and industry users are utilizing open-source and sharing technical / support resources to support open-source initiatives and deployments.  In light of recent events, there is no better time to rally the open-source geo (and the broader geospatial community in general) around collaboration, innovation, and supporting the people and missions which have been drastically impacted of late.
